    Intellon is a leader in powerline communications technology. Intellon developed and patented the baseline technology behind the initial standard adopted by the HomePlug Powerline Alliance, a global industry group formed to create and promote standards for powerline communications. In 2001, Intellon introduced the first HomePlug-based IC, and has since developed several new generations of HomePlug-based ICs. In 2006, Intellon introduced the first HomePlug AV-based IC, which can deliver the quality of service required to support reliable, uninterrupted distribution of standard- and high-definition video among personal computers and consumer electronics products.
    With over 26 million HomePlug-based ICs sold (as of December 31, 2008), Intellon holds a significant IC market share of the rapidly growing HomePlug market. Intellon’s leadership positions the company to capitalize on growth markets such as home networking, media and entertainment systems connectivity as well as enabling the further convergence of PC and consumer electronics applications.
    Intellon ICs are used to create instant networks, enabling PCs, broadband modems, set-top boxes, gaming consoles and audio/video devices to communicate instantly over existing power lines in the home. Our HomePlug AV ICs allow distribution of multiple HDTV streams over in-home powerlines. We are also a provider of lower bandwidth Spread Spectrum Carrier (SSC) ICs; to date we have shipped more than seven million of these command and control devices, with more coming into service every month.
    Intellon is also a founding member of the HomePlug Powerline Alliance. Founded in 1989, Intellon is headquartered in Orlando, Florida. The company also has offices in Ocala, Toronto, Canada, and San Jose, California.
